In 2007, the sport of track and field took a devastating blow when several of the sport’s world-renowned athletes were taken down for using performance-enhancing drugs. Due to the overwhelming amount of unfavorable press that began to overcast the entire sport, DeeDee felt that it was necessary to do something in order to separate herself and take a stand against dishonest athletes. It was with that passion and determination that DeeDee started Test Me I’m Clean!

The organization’s name alone captured the attention of press, media, spectators and fans around the world. Within only a few months of the organization’s launch, the highly acclaimed Sports Illustrated magazine deemed it worthy of a full page in the September 2007 issue. A photo taken of DeeDee at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka Japan, featuring her from the waist down, captured in perfect sight her white wristband that read, “Test Me I’m Clean.” This publication boosted the organization to unexpected heights its very first year.

The positive press, in addition to thesupport of “WADA,” the World Anti-Doping Agency, “USADA,” the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, the “ABA,” American Basketball Association and over 100 professional athletes from various sports, would help to rocket Test Me I’m Clean to an amazing start.

DeeDee then began to share her motivational story, in combination with educational information on the dangers of performance enhancement drugs, with youth athletic groups, schools of all grade levels and community organizations all over the country. Her goal is not only to educate but to also motivate and inspire her young listeners to abide by the “3H’s,” hard work, honesty and honor. These are three attributes that DeeDee believes instilling in our youth will not only perpetuate them to becoming fantastic athletes but also fantastic people. Her message and presence when she enters a packed school gymnasium with her gold medals dangling from her neck, ultimately brings proof to her adoring audience that success can be achieved the fair way.
