It was a great day for several schools in Dekalb County! DeeDee pushed forward with her efforts to spread the gift of reading with as many schools as possible despite Covid 19 School closures. In 2020, just prior to Covid 19 closures, DeeDee received 5000 new books as an honorarium for hosting an educational web series called Math at Work Olympic Edition. The plan was to deliver the books to the selected schools; however, school closures delayed the project for over a year. The large freight of books was graciously being stored at One Accord Community Church in Decatur, GA. Thankfully, Dekalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson partnered with DeeDee on the book donation project. Together, they were able to arrange an event at the church to give a few thousand books a new home!

Special thanks to Commissioner Larry Johnson, One Accord Community Church, for their tireless dedication to this project and the community.
